The first documented mention of Bočac Fortress appears in a charter dating back to 1448.

From 1463 to 1527 during the Ottoman rule, Bočac served as a crucial fortification for the Banovina of Jajce.

Despite being abandoned before 1833, the fortified walls and towers surrounding the large garden of the town remain relatively well-preserved.
