Meeting a Jazavac (Badger)

Hello again from the village.

I really didn’t plan to record anything today, but something just clicked so this is me, a bit of wind on the microphone, and a short walk to the “last house” and back, which is about 2.5 kilometres.

I’m staring again, though, to keep up my usual 4.5 km daily walks.

At 73, I’ll take that as a win.

Along the way, I talk about how I came across something I really didn’t expect the other day… a jazavac, a badger, lying in the road. Not something you see often here, and certainly not like what I saw. It stopped me in my tracks and made me think about how raw and real rural life can be.

That’s Bosnia.

So in this walk and talk, I also share a few thoughts about:

• Life in a Bosnian village (the small, everyday details)
• What’s coming up over the next few weeks, family visits, Serbian Easter, and a 15km hike with our local club
• And why I’m trying to keep things simple, both in life and in how I record these videos
