This Weeks Vlog.

What an interesting Week.

It's been an extremely eventful 7 days I have to say here.

Most of whats happened we have covered in this weeks vlog.

Hosting guests from Saudi Arabia, getting my second dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine, Riding for the first time on a Dajak, (Banja Luka’s unique boat), Getting a package from Argentina, Receiving the annual delivery of fuel for winter, and be honest, just surviving the scorching daily temperatures.

But at the start of the week we had Police drop by. They were looking for two Brits.

Apparently two young men (Ashley and Harry?), have married local girls and their (the guys) residency applications show they are resident in our village.

So did we know where they actually live?

We don’t as it happens. Houses here don’t have numbers, so we are ALL “Čardačani bb”. The “bb” means bez broj (without a number).

I always thought that I would be the only foreigner, but, it seems, it looks like I won’t. If I meet them I’ll update you.

In Brief.

You may remember that in a past Podcast, I spoke to Efie Derksen, from the Netherlands about Folklore in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Efie was producing a film called “My Borrowed Heritage”. Well, now the film is its completed, and will get its world Premiere in Banja Luka this weekend. Location? The Kastel.

Efie has arrived from the Netherlands and looks at the venue

The event starts at 1430 local time, so if you’re near Banja Luka this Sunday (4th July), why not come and see it. Oh BTW, if you are, drop me a line and we can meet for coffee maybe?

If you would like copy of our Banja Luka guide, CLICK HERE.

Kittens, Kittens, Kittens.
It really beggars belief, but another trio of kittens has arrived. Tamara’s mother saw a car (blue golf) driving off, just before these crawled up into the property to be greeted by FiBi (one of our dogs). They are all fine and well, and will stay with us for a bit before moving onto to Foster homes, which we have found for them.

The Three Amigos that turned up on our doorstep

What crazy stuff arrives in your inbox?
We’d like to know.
This week this arrived.

WTF!

We had guests staying this week.

Our Guests from Saudi Arabia, getting to discover this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

COME AND STAY WITH US

This week’s Foreigner in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Livno and the Wild Horses.

I would like to introduce you to my Belgian friend, Jelle, who lives in Konjic. Jelle has been living in Bosnia and Herzegovina for decades now, and unlike me, speaks the local language perfectly. Jelle is into Biking, and extreme biking too. Jelle has an excellent Instagram account, which I highly recommend following, as he shows the adventures he has here in this beautiful Country.

Livno is wel known for it's wild horses. A perfect option to visit them is by e-bike. The amazing bikes from @greyp_bikes makes this active ride a real joy!

The bikes are offered bij @wildhorses.continental and this amazing option can be included in Your next adventure with @visitkonjic too!

After the ride to the horses, we passed along the sturba river ( @stur.ba_canoe_and_birdwatching ) and the roman bridge in Sujica.

International White Water Canoeing.

01 July 2021. Registration Day for the 2021 Wild Water Canoeing Championships.

Wildwater canoeing is a timed event consisting of two forms of racing, classic and sprint.

We will be attending this event. Next weeks newsletter should have our report plus links to videos, images and blogposts from this Banja Luka hosted International Event.

At the 2016 World Championships in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emil Milihram of Croatia won his sixth consecutive C1 individual classic world title, equalling the world championships record set by Italy’s Vladi Panato in the same event (1993-2002).

Wildwater canoeing has also proved to be a route to an Olympic canoe discipline.
