Sretan Uskrs - Happy Easter
As you read this I am sure we will have had a few “Egg Fights”, an egg hunt around the garden and looking forward to a superb family lunch.
Today is Serbian Orthodox Easter!
Welcome to another newsletter from Tamara and Me here in Čardačani.
As you read this I am sure we will have had a few “Egg Fights”, an egg hunt around the garden and looking forward to a superb family lunch.
Here’s our short video from last year.
Highlights of the past week?
1. Chatting with Hubert Nijmeijer, the CEO of Dutch online company “HiHi Guide” to get the lowdown on how things might look for us travelling post COVID.
Travelling (previously referred to as Tourism), has an impact on the Bosnian Economy.
You can listen to the podcast in the Archive part of this newsletter.
2. Flying Our DJI Spark Drone.
The video is a bit “jerky” but it was quite windy for such a tiny drone, but you knew that anyway. Right?
3. I finally did it!
Has it been that many years since we were embracing Facebook and Twitter as the future of sharing everything from pictures of our pets and breakfasts?
Much has happened in between. For me as a former Social Media evangelist, I simply have become disillusioned.
I am the first to embrace the democratisation of information but that MUST come with responsibility and accountability.
Not only is there a seemingly lack of any accountability but the toxicity of the online "social space" is overwhelming.
Today, I decided that I needed to "get a grip".
I'll just stick with Instagram (please don't yell "that's owned by Facebook"), as my single social platform. For me at any rate, IG is low in toxicity. High with intrusive advertising, yes, but deffo low in the toxic stakes.
My plan is to keep in touch with you all here and just focus on my weekly newsletter.
4. It was Prvi Maj yesterday (First of May - Big Former Socialist Holiday here back in the day).
Who else could sing about Prvi Maj than the Dubious Kolektiv - Enjoy!
Well, our COVID world seems to be getting less negative and more positive.
