No More Masks - Život bez maski
In the Republika Srpska, the obligation to wear protective masks indoors has been abolished, RS Minister of Health Alen Šeranić said today after the session of the RS Government.
Hello and welcome to this edition of our newsletter / Blog Post, from Čardačani, in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina, written by an immigrant (me), as I am neither a tourist or a citizen here.
This week has seen, once again, our weather bouncing up and down like a huge rubber ball in a children’s playground.
As I write this during early morning, it’s around -1 to -2 outside after an extremely chilly night.
Tamara and I were just thinking about how this might affect, again, the fruit harvest for the coming season.
Once those blossoms get bitten by frost then, well, its all over.
Global Warming. Grrrrr
We got through it!
So.
We got through it!
Well, sort of.
The authorities in the Republika Srpska, the part of Bosnia and Herzegovina where we live, have lifted all COVID related restrictions.
In the Republika Srpska, the obligation to wear protective masks indoors has been abolished, RS Minister of Health Alen Šeranić said today after the session of the RS Government. This also applies to schools and other educational institutions, and the only obligation left is to wear masks in health institutions.
Have you been Doom Scrolling? - I have.
Events some 1,152km or 716 miles away from us here in the village have been dominating the information space.
It’s been relentless, and no matter how much I try, I can’t totally eradicate some DOOM SCROLLING from my day.
Doomscrolling or doomsurfing, is the act of spending an excessive amount of screen time devoted to the absorption of negative news, which could result in harmful psychophysiological responses in some.
It would be a total stretch of the imagination to say that we have any meaningful, independent media here in this country. The population consume a news and current affairs diet that has no balance, and to be honest, an extremely low level of fact checking.
Media ownership is under political control (through proxies) and “gaslights” the population with extraordinary success.
Conspiracy theories are driven home as ‘facts” without let up. The phrase, “People Don’t Think, They Feel” really does apply here.
Maybe this applies to where you live as well?
Cafés of Banja Luka
A bit of remote working today from Nomad Coffee & Shop in Banja Luka at Nomad Coffee & Shop
Super location.
Great service, coffee is good and, as you can see, there's stout from The Master Craft Brewery
Still getting used to having freedom to mix again.
Lebanese Food in Banja Luka?
For Dan Žena this year, I got Tamara a place on what I think might be the first ever Lebanese cooking course in Banja Luka.
It’s a 4 hour session with Maher Abu Ayman Al-Osta
We’ll let you know how it went in a future blogpost here.
And Finally

In most of the countries vovid rules are being lifted. It feels great! But funny thing is, now walking in shop and some public building without the mask, feels like I'm doing something wrong 🤣
Wow, Lebanese food in Banja Luka!! How was it???
