The Fruit Trees are Blossoming

With the albeit rather damp Spring weather arriving, it's good to see the fruit trees and bushes blossoming.

With the albeit rather damp Spring weather arriving, it's good to see the fruit trees and bushes blossoming.

When the sun is out, the colours really light up the countryside.

The past two Springs here though have been affected by severe frost snaps, in other words the exposed blossoms have literally died off. Result? No fruit.

For those that are regular readers or followers, you'll know only too well about the relationship between fruit and rakija.

We not only like to take part in the distilling of rakija, but also being able to make jams and create fruit based cakes and other desserts. There's NOTHING like own garden produce.

Am I right?

Last year Tamara's father lit a fire around 3 o'clock on a bitterly cold morning, near our main small cherry tree. He managed to save the crop from that tree. Cherries are my favourite fruit at the moment, so .....

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Global warming effects don't, once again, mess up nature.
