Coffee and Rakija
I'm changing things here on Substack.
This post is too long for E-Mail, so if your’e reading in your inbox, you will eventually come to a “View entire message” link. Click on that, and the rest of the email should appear normally.
Hello again from Čardačani.
If I haven’t already wished you a Happy New Year for 2024, then “Happy New Year”.
Tamara and I wish you all the best of health and happiness, and everything that you wish for yourself.
Today is Serbian Orthodox Christmas. This post has been scheduled a little in advance as Tamara and I will be celebrating with her parents in Banja Luka.
In next weeks post I’ll tell you all about it.
I’m definitely not a New Year’s resolution person, and I’m not even sure about “New Year New Start”, but I’ve decided to change the style of how I tell my stories about my life here in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Looking back at my archive it all seems sketchy, disjointed, and not saying what I wanted to say. I think, in fact I now realise, that I really didn’t understand how to use this platform.
So, after much thought, I’ve changed the name of this substack to reflect more, the content I’ll be posting.
I will be posting “Coffee and Rakija”, weekly on a Sunday morning, and posts from now onwards, will incorporate links to my podcast, “An Englishman in the Balkans” as well as any embedded videos.
Even though the name of this Substack has changed, you might enjoy some of my previous posts (please don’t forget to leave a comment 😀).
Our Latest Podcast.
If you would like to follow me in (almost) real time, I use the “Notes” feature to post short daily updates.
I hope that you’ll enjoy continuing to follow my adventures here and that “re-branding” this substack will make you reading/listening/viewing experience worthwhile.

Tamara and I appreciate your faithful readership, your comments, and your generosity!
Until our next post. “Videmo se uskoro”.
THANKS SO MUCH ❤️
